Dead End

Then I run my hand down your spine
You guessed I wrote something profound something like:
"Our love will last 'til we die"
I say "you're good at this game"
But what I really wrote is
"How I've yet to be saved"

WIND AND WINDOW FLOWER

Lovers, forget your love,
And listen to the love of these,
She a window flower,
And he a winter breeze.

When the frosty window veil
Was melted down at noon,
And the caged yellow bird
Hung over her in tune,
He marked her through the pane,
He could not help but mark,
And only passed her by
To come again at dark.

He was a winter wind,
Concerned with ice and snow,
Dead weeds and unmated birds,
And little of love could know.

But he sighed upon the sill,
He gave the sash a shake,
As witness all within
Who lay that night awake.
Per chance he half prevailed
To win her for the flight
From the firelit looking-glass
And warm stove-window light.

But the flower leaned aside
And thought of naught to say,
And morning found the breeze
A hundred miles away.

Every memory of your face
is now painted with pain
and laced with disgrace
A problem that will forever misplace
A friendship now broken
A love we could showcase
What divides us is more than endless space
It is darkness ever-reaching
A cold embrace…

Beacon

You say your time has come
You're tired of waking up
Don't be obscene, I can't conceive of
Living without you

You say you drag me down
No one should want you now
I start to cry, you kiss my eyes and say
I'm not allowed to

You were a child forgot
Lessons of love untaught
Now no embrace can quite replace
The one that never found you

But I was raised tenderly
And all that was taught to me
I will apply, your parents tried
But they didn't know how to

Burning beacon in the night
Can't feel it's heat, or see it's light
That single solitary guide,
it must get lonely there sometimes.

Flowers of light

I will hold you like the sky holds the stars we lay beneath tonight. And watch you smile, a smile that is like a shining sun in the night giving light and life to seeds upon my chest. And so shall I let them blossom in our hearts, these flowers of light. With beauty that is both powerful and sad.

“You’re in a car with a beautiful boy, and he won’t tell you that he loves you, but he loves you. And you feel like you’ve done something terrible, like robbed a liquor store, or swallowed pills, or shoveled yourself a grave in the dirt, and you’re tired. You’re in a car with a beautiful boy, and you’re trying not to tell him that you love him, and you’re trying to choke down the feeling, and you’re trembling, but he reaches over and he touches you, like a prayer for which no words exist, and you feel your heart taking root in your body, like you’ve discovered something you didn’t even have a name for.”
—Richard Siken

Who?

Like the Sun cannot stop it’s eternal race
So can I not wait to see your face
And once more be in your warm embrace
It is late night here, and all I can think of is you….. whoever you are.
As light peaks through blinds
In the warmth of the morning
I will hold you, love

What a beautiful mess I am in....

It’s 3:30 in the morning, I can’t sleep, When I sleep I dream of him, When I blink it’s his face I see. When I think it’s his voice I hear. When I move it’s his hands I feel guiding me. What do you do when your mind is so consumed with thoughts of someone? Not even the mighty sky can fill the space he left behind, not even when it rains

Make your mind up-
you're just holding me here,
you're taking time up,
but I don't mind as long as we're
the only things locked on your mind-
in there I'm yours and you are mine,
and everything is as it should be.

Call your own bluff-
it's only truth that space will never be enough
to keep our thoughts from mixing.
Time is getting smaller
and it's clear now that all we're here
for is holding on.

I think you should let me know,
because I have never been a good sport
at this game that you call "letting go".
I think you should show
me that I'm not another number
in that cellular phone underneath your bed

Blind

You don't see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear...
It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a chandelier.

I am Wanty

I want warm summer nights, to lie in a hammock, staring at the stars, telling you stories. I want to dip my toes in the water, to dangle my feet off the edge of the dock and sit leaning forward, looking at you, laughing. To huddle around a fire on the beach, salt water drying into my hair, reading from that book you always carry. I want to sit next to you on a log and sleep next to you in a tent. I want to wake up early and make pancakes over a fire, to wash the dishes in the river while we swim. To build sandcastles and castles-in-the-air. I want to drive home with my bare feet on the dashboard, the windows down, my hair whipped in every direction from the wind rushing through open windows. I want to hear your voice shouting the lyrics to the songs on the radio that you don’t know the words to. I want to be able to look at you and smile and not say a word. To have adventures and passion and to truly live. To truly love.

"Stranger"

A yellow headed stranger with a five-letter name
Stole my flaming kisses without any strain.
He held fire in his hands
and made it course through my veins.
His eyes told me that I was his only flame,
So bright that at night we lit the streets like butane.
Pressed hard against his burning skin;
Tongues of fire dance within.
Completely consumed; his love was thick as sin.

Everyone must know how violently bright we glow....

"Unrequited"

I touch your pillow
Each wrinkled sheet
The secret places
We used to meet
I watched you breathing
And touched your hair
Your scent still lingers
And strips me bare...
... I close the windows
I stay indoors
Avoiding strangers
With eyes like yours
I hide from daylight
From the morning's glare
What good is daylight
When you're not there...

Forever, Forever

I want to see your
Face against the morning sun
Our bodies entwined

Warmed and refreshed
Dewy raindrops on our skin
Smells of love and sweat

Forever, forever

Excerpt

I can barely remember the first time we met, for my heart knew him before my eyes caught him.

I need...

A heart of gold is what I need
A heart that can't be told or grant reprieve
From what needs to be done and what needs to be seen
is a heart full of love with a nuturing seed
that will blossom a man with an undying need
to care for their love, and satisfy their every plea
A heart that will grow like a ravenous weed
A heart too stubborn to succumb to difficulty
A heart that is to be called none other than... Free.

A thief in the night,
has stolen into my dreaming,
abducted my desires,
and has claimed my soul, home.
Only a blurry face and shapeless form does roam,
I strive to see by the weakest fires,
but when that light will be beaming,
a thief will make everything right.

Story of my life

A Clash

A binding of hearts
a chaining of souls, create
a pure, stubborn love
